Engine Oil: Service and Repair




Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle Service and Repair in General Information.




2. Remove the oil filter from the engine block. Clean the oil filter mounting surfaces.




3. Remove the oil pan drain plug and drain the engine oil. Clean the oil drain plug and mounting surface.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the oil filter to the engine block. Refer to the oil filter manufacturer for tightening specs.





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install the drain plug to the oil pan.

Tighten the drain plug to 28 Nm (21 lb. ft.)

3. Lower the vehicle.
4. Fill the crankcase with oil. Refer to Fluid and Lubricant Recommendations [1][2]Fluid Type Specifications in Maintenance and Lubrication.
