Catalytic Converter Replacement

Removal Procedure




1. Remove the nuts from the catalytic converter studs.
2. Remove the following components from the front of the catalytic converter:

* The clamps
* The U-bolts

3. Remove the following components from the rear of the catalytic converter:

* The clamps
* The U-bolts

4. Remove the tailpipe.




5. Remove the catalytic converter from the muffler.
6. Remove the gasket.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the gasket.
2. Install the catalytic converter into the muffler.
3. Install the tailpipe to the converter.
4. Install the following components to the front of the catalytic converter:

* The clamps
* The U-bolts




5. Install the following components to the rear of the catalytic converter:

* The clamps
* The U-bolts

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

6. Install the nuts to the catalytic converter studs.

Tighten the nuts to 50 Nm (37 lb ft).
