Battery Replacement (Left Battery)

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable from the battery.






2. Remove the left fender to radiator support brace.






3. Disconnect the positive battery cable from the battery.






4. Remove the battery hold down bolt and the retainer.
5. Remove the battery.
6. Remove the battery insulator.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE






1. Install the battery insulator.
2. Install the battery.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

3. Install battery hold down bolt and the retainer.

Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 9 N.m (80 lb in).






4. Connect the positive battery cable to the battery.

Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 17 N.m (13 lb ft).






5. Install the left fender to radiator support brace.

Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

6. Connect the negative battery cable to the battery.

Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 17 N.m (13 lb ft).
