Oxidation Catalytic Converter Replacement (Left)

Removal Procedure





1. Remove the exhaust crossover pipe.
2. Remove the connector position assurance (CPA) retainer.
3. Disconnect the heated oxygen sensor electrical connector.
4. Remove the heated oxygen sensor from the left catalytic converter.





5. Remove the exhaust manifold pipe nuts (1).
6. Remove the catalytic converter gasket (2).
7. Remove the left catalytic converter.

Installation Procedure





1. Install the left catalytic converter gasket (2).
2. Install the left catalytic converter.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

3. Install the exhaust manifold pipe nuts (1).
^ Tighten the exhaust manifold pipe nuts (1) to 35 Nm (26 ft. lbs.).





4. Install the heated oxygen sensor to the left catalytic converter.
^ Tighten the heated oxygen sensor to 42 Nm (31 ft. lbs.).
5. Connect the heated oxygen sensor electrical connector.
6. Install the CPA retainer.
7. Install the exhaust crossover pipe.
