Front Seat Recliner Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the driver or passenger front seat.
2. Remove the head rest.
3. Remove the knob on the release lever for the seat back lock on Coupe and Convertible models.
4. Disengage the front seat back pad and cover closeout strip.




5. Lift the front seat back pad and cover as necessary in order to access the front seat recliner bolts (1).
6. Remove the front seat recliner bolts (1, 2).
7. Remove the front seat recliner.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the front seat recliner.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the front seat recliner bolts (1).

Tighten the front seat recliner back bolts to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).

3. Install the front seat cushion bolts (2)

Tighten the front seat cushion bolts to 24 N.m (18 lb ft).

4. Reposition the front seat back pad and cover assembly.
5. Reconnect the front seat back pad and cover closeout strip.
6. Install the knob on the release lever for the seat back lock.
7. Install the headrest.
8. Install the driver or passenger front seat.
