Brake Proportioning/Combination Valve: Service and Repair

Removal Procedure





1. Raise the vehicle on a hoist. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Disconnect the brake lines (2) from the proportioner valves (1).
3. Plug the brake lines to avoid brake fluid loss and brake fluid contamination.
4. Remove the proportioner valves (1) from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure





1. Install the proportioner valves (1).

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Connect the brake lines (2) to the proportioner valves (1).

^ Tighten the brake line nuts to 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.).

3. Bleed the hydraulic brake system. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding.
