Heater Pipes Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Drain the engine coolant. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System in Cooling System.
2. Remove the air cleaner inlet duct.
3. Remove and set aside the ignition module.
4. Disconnect the heater core to heater pipe hoses from the heater pipe assembly.
5. Disconnect the heater pipe hose at the coolant outlet on the engine.
6. Disconnect the heater pipe hose at the coolant inlet on the engine.
7. Remove the bolt and nut that retain the pipe to the engine.
8. Remove the heater pipe assembly.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the heater pipe assembly.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the bolt and nut in order to retain the pipe to the engine.

Tighten
Tighten the bolt and nut to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

3. Connect the heater pipe hose to the coolant inlet on the engine.
4. Connect the heater pipe hose to the coolant outlet on the engine.
5. Connect the heater core to heater pipe hoses from the heater pipe assembly.
6. Refill the engine coolant. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System in Cooling System.
