Blower Motor: Service and Repair

BLOWER MOTOR AND FAN REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

CAUTION
^ Unplug the blower motor before removal. Blower motor case contact with any ground may start the fan and cause personal injury.
^ Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.





1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the I/P lower insulator panel - RH.
3. Disconnect the blower motor control module or resistor electrical connector from the blower motor.




4. Disconnect the blower motor cooling tube from the HVAC module.
5. Remove the three blower motor retaining screws.
6. Remove the blower motor with fan from the HVAC module.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the blower motor with fan to the HVAC module.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the blower motor retaining screws.

Tighten
Tighten the blower motor retaining screws to 1.7 N.m (15 lb in).

3. Connect the blower motor cooling tube to the HVAC module.




4. Connect the blower motor control module or resistor electrical connector to the blower motor.
5. Install the I/P lower insulator panel - RH.
6. Connect the negative battery cable.

Tighten
Tighten the negative battery cable bolt to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).

7. Program the transmitters. Refer to Transmitter Programming/Synchronization in keyless Entry.
