Brake Rotor Replacement

Removal Procedure





1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle with safety stands. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
3. Remove the brake caliper. Refer to Brake Caliper Replacement.
4. Remove the wheel bearings. Refer to Wheel Hub Bearing, and Seal Replacement.





5. Remove the rotor from the vehicle.
6. Inspect and clean all of the parts. Replace any parts as necessary.
7. Refinish the rotor if required. Refer to Brake Rotor Refinishing.

Installation Procedure





1. Install the rotor to the vehicle.
2. Install the wheel bearings and seal. Refer to Wheel Hub, Bearing, and Seal Replacement.
3. Install the brake caliper. Refer to Brake Caliper Replacement.
4. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
5. Remove the safety stands and lower the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
6. Lower the vehicle.
7. Depress the brake pedal.
8. Burnish the front brake rotors and pads. Refer to Burnishing Pads and Rotors.
