REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Remove the air filter assembly.
2. Disconnect the reactor hose assembly from the reactor pipe by releasing the spring clamp.




3. Remove the reactor pipe assembly bolts.
4. Remove the reactor pipe assembly and gasket.

IMPORTANT: Perform this step only if the check valve needs replacement.

5. Separate the check valve from the reactor pipe by loosening the pipe locknut.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.




1. Skip the first step if the check valve has not been removed.
Connect the reactor pipe and check valve by installing the pipe locknut.

Tighten
Tighten the locknut to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

IMPORTANT: Clean the manifold mounting surfaces of any debris or carbon buildup. An airhole can adversely effect the vehicle emissions and driveability.

2. Install the reactor pipe and the gasket.
3. Install the reactor pipe assembly bolts.

Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

4. Connect the reactor hose assembly to the reactor pipe by installing the spring clamp.
5. Install the air filter box assembly.
