REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Remove the retaining bolt from the coolant recovery bottle.
2. Set the coolant recovery bottle aside.




3. Disconnect the reactor hose assembly from the reactor pipe by releasing the spring clamp.




4. Remove the reactor pipe assembly bolts.
5. Remove the reactor pipe assembly and the gasket.

IMPORTANT: Perform this step only if the check valve needs replacement.




6. Separate the check valve from the reactor pipe by loosening the pipe locknut.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.




1. Skip the first step if the check valve has not been removed.
Connect the reactor pipe and check valve by installing the pipe locknut.

Tighten
Tighten the locknut to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

IMPORTANT: Clean the manifold mounting surfaces of any debris or carbon buildup. An airhole could adversely effect vehicle emissions and driveability.




2. Install the reactor pipe and gasket.
3. Install the reactor pipe assembly bolts.

Tighten
Tighten the reactor pipe bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).




4. Connect the reactor hose assembly to the reactor pipe by installing the spring clamp.




5. Install the coolant recovery bottle using the retaining bolt.

Tighten
Tighten the mounting bolt to 11 N.m (97 lb in).
