REMOVAL PROCEDURE

TOOLS REQUIRED
J 39083 Glow Plug Connector Remover and Installer

CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.

1. Remove the negative battery cables.
2. Remove the glow plug lead wires using the J 39083 glow plug connector remover and installer.
3. Remove the glow plugs (1) from cylinders 1, 3, 5 and 7. If a glow plug is damaged during removal, refer to Damaged Glow Plug Removal.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the glow plugs (1).

Tighten
Tighten the glow plugs to 17 N.m (13 lb ft).

2. Install the lead wires to the glow plugs.
3. Install the negative battery cables.
