Engine Dash Mat Replacement - Side

The engine side dash mat is composed of a thermoplastic rubber. The material is flexible. In order to service the dash mat or in order to perform a repair procedure behind the mat, pull the mat away or remove the dash mat. When possible, pull the mat away to one area and perform the repair procedure. If necessary, cut the mat in order to make a repair.


Use the following procedure if the mat must be cut in order to make a repair:

1. Select a surface area to cut.
2. Lightly sand the surrounding area.
3. Apply contact cement between the cut surface and the surrounding area.
4. Allow the cement to cure before stressing the repaired area.
