Receiver Dryer Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Discharge and recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging. Service and Repair
2. Remove the bolt and the inlet fitting from the top of the receiver-dryer (5).
3. Remove the bolt and the outlet fitting from the top of the receiver-dryer (5).
4. Remove the screw that retains the receiver-dryer in the bracket.
5. Remove the receiver-dryer from the bracket.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

IMPORTANT: If you are installing a new receiver-dryer, add 10 ml (0.3 fl oz) of refrigerant oil to the A/C system.




1. Lubricate new O-rings with mineral base 525 viscosity refrigerant oil.
2. Install the O-rings to the inlet fittings and to the outlet fittings of the receiver-dryer.
3. Install the receiver-dryer to the condenser bracket. Secure the receiver-dryer with the screw.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

4. Install the inlet fitting to the top of the receiver-dryer (5). Secure the receiver-dryer inlet fitting with the bolt.
5. Install the outlet fitting to the top of the receiver-dryer (5). Secure receiver-dryer outlet fitting with the bolt.

Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 9.8 N.m (86.74 lb in).

6. Evacuate and recharge the Air Conditioning (A/C) system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging. Service and Repair
7. Operate the A/C system, and test the system for refrigerant leaks. Refer to Leak Testing Leak Testing
