Air Temperature Sensor ( Ambient / Intake ): Service and Repair




REMOVAL PROCEDURE
The Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor is an integral part of the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor and cannot be serviced separately. Replacement of the MAF sensor is required in order to replace the IAT sensor.
1. Disconnect the electrical connector (1) from the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor (3).
2. Remove the two MAF sensor fasteners (2).
3. Remove the MAF sensor (3) from the air cleaner housing (5).

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install a new O-ring (4) on the MAF sensor.
2. Install the MAF sensor (3) into the air cleaner housing (5).

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service and Precautions.

3. Secure the MAF sensor with the 2 fasteners (2).

Tighten
Tighten the 2 fasteners to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

4. Connect the MAF sensor electrical connector (1).
