Endgate Hinge Replacement (Upper)

Removal Procedure





1. Open the endgate panel.
2. Suitably support the endgate panel.
3. Mark the position of the upper hinge to the endgate panel and the door jamb in order to aid in the reassembly process.
4. Remove the 2 bolts (2) that retain the endgate upper hinge (1) to the endgate panel.
5. Remove the 3 bolts (3) that retain the endgate upper hinge (1) to the door jamb.
6. Remove the endgate upper hinge (1) from the vehicle.



Installation Procedure





1. Install the endgate upper hinge (1) to the vehicle. Secure the hinge to the door jamb with the 3 bolts (3). Do not tighten completely at this time.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install the 2 bolts (2) that retain the endgate upper hinge (1) to the endgate panel.

Tighten the endgate upper hinge mounting bolts to 34 N.m (25 lb ft).

3. Remove the support from the endgate panel.
4. Close the endgate panel.
