Brake Caliper Inspection

1. Inspect the caliper (1) for fluid leaks. If the caliper leaks fluid, refer to Brake Caliper Overhaul.





2. Inspect the caliper boots. Replace the boots if necessary.
3. Inspect the caliper slide pins for smooth movement.





4. If the caliper slide pins do not move smoothly, apply silicone lubricant, GM P/N 1801908, or the equivalent, to the slide pins.
5. Inspect the caliper piston boot for cracks and damage. If the caliper piston boot is cracked or damaged, refer to Brake Caliper Overhaul.
