Transmission Mount: Service and Repair

Removal Procedure





1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Support the transmission with a suitable hydraulic jack.
3. Disconnect the VSS.
4. Remove the 2 bolts (2) from the rear transmission mount (1).
5. Remove the 4 bolts and the rear transmission crossmember from the vehicle.





6. Remove 1 bolt and the rear transmission mount (2) from the extension case (1).


Installation Procedure

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice Service Precautions.





1. Install the rear transmission mount (2) to the extension case (1). Secure with 1 bolt.
^ Tighten the rear transmission mount bolt to 60 Nm (44 ft. lbs.).





2. Install the rear transmission crossmember to the vehicle. Secure with 4 bolts.
^ Tighten the rear transmission crossmember bolts to 60 Nm (44 ft. lbs.).
3. Install the 2 bolts (2) to the rear transmission mount.
^ Tighten the rear transmission mount bolts (2) to 60 Nm (44 ft. lbs.).
4. Connect the VSS (2).
5. Remove the hydraulic jack from underneath the transmission.
6. Lower the vehicle.
