Acceleration/Deceleration Sensor: Service and Repair

Removal Procedure





1. Remove the parking brake lever bezel attaching screws (2).
2. Remove the parking brake lever bezel (1).





3. Disconnect the accelerometer electrical connector (2).





4. Remove the two bolts (2) that retains the accelerometer (1).
5. Remove the accelerometer (1) from the vehicle.


Installation Procedure





1. Install the accelerometer (1) to the vehicle.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the two bolts (2) that retain the accelerometer.
^ Tighten the two accelerometer bolts to 16 Nm (12 ft. lbs.).





3. Connect the accelerometer electrical connector (2).





4. Install the parking brake lever bezel (1).
5. Install the parking brake lever bezel attaching screws (2).
6. Perform A Diagnostic System Check - ABS.
