Rear Lift Window Replacement

Removal Procedure

Important: Before cutting out or removing a stationary window, apply a double layer of masking tape around the perimeter of the painted surfaces and inner trim of the window.

1. Open the lift window.




Disconnect the lift window rear defogger plug from the window.

Caution: Refer to Glass and Sheet Metal Handling Caution in Service Precautions.

2. Use safety glasses and gloves.




3. Remove the struts from the lift window.




4. Remove the C-clips from the lift window hinges, not the liftgate.
5. With the aid of an assistant remove the lift window (1) from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure




1. With the aid of an assistant install the lift window (1) to the vehicle.
2. Install the C-clips to the lift window hinges.




3. Install the struts to the lift window.




4. Connect the lift window rear defogger plug to the window.




5. Clean any excess adhesive from the body.
6. Remove the protective coverings and tape from the vehicle and the headliner.
7. Close the lift window.
