Service Port HVAC: Service and Repair

SERVICE PORT VALVE CORE REPLACEMENT

TOOLS REQUIRED
^ J 34611-A Valve Core Remover and Installer
^ J 39400-A Halogen Leak Detector

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
2. Remove the service port valve core using J 34611-A.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.




1. Install the service port valve core using J 3461 1-A.

Tighten
Tighten the service core to 11 N.m (98 lb in).

2. Recharge the air conditioning (A/C) system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
3. Leak test the fittings of the component using the J 39400-A.
