Tail Lamp: Service and Repair

TAILLAMP REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Pull back the rear compartment trim in order to access the taillamp. Refer to Compartment Trim Panel Replacement - Rear in Trunk/Liftgate.
2. Disconnect the electrical connector (1) from the taillamp.
3. Remove the bulb/socket from the taillamp.
4. Remove the bulb from the socket, if required.
5. Remove the nuts (2) from the taillamp.
6. Remove the taillamp from the quarter panel.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

NOTE: Refer to Electrical Wiring Routing Notice in Service Precautions.




1. Install the taillamp to the quarter panel.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the nuts to the taillamp.

Tighten
Tighten the taillamp nuts (2) to 5 N.m (44 lb in).

3. Connect the electrical connector (1) to the taillamp.
4. Install the bulb to the socket, if required.
5. Install the bulb/socket to the taillamp.
6. Pull back the rear compartment trim. Refer to Compartment Trim Panel Replacement - Rear in Trunk/Liftgate.
