Tilt Column

Removal Procedure

Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the steering column trim covers. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement-On Vehicle.
3. Remove the multifunction switch. Refer to Multifunction, Turn Signal, and Hazard Switch Replacement-On Vehicle.





4. Remove the retaining screw from the windshield wiper switch (2).
5. Disconnect the electrical connector from the windshield wiper switch.
6. Remove the windshield wiper switch (2) from the column (6).

Installation Procedure





1. Connect the electrical connector to the windshield wiper switch (2).
2. Install the windshield wiper switch (2) to the column (6).

Notice Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

3. Install the retaining screw to the windshield wiper switch (2).
- Tighten the screw to 4 Nm (36 inch lbs.).
4. Install the multifunction switch. Refer to Multifunction, Turn Signal, and Hazard Switch Replacement-On Vehicle.
5. Install the steering column trim covers. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement-On Vehicle.
6. Connect the negative battery cable.
7. Ensure that the windshield wiper switch (2) functions properly.
