Brake Fluid Pressure Sensor/Switch: Service and Repair

Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM) Replacement

Removal Procedure

Notice: To prevent equipment damage, never connect or disconnect the wiring harness connection from the EBCM with the ignition switch in the ON position.





1. Drain the cooling system.
2. Disconnect and remove the radiator inlet hose.
3. Loosen the two retaining nuts (1) and carefully reposition the EBCM to access the brake pressure sensor (2).
4. Disconnect the brake pressure sensor electrical connector.
5. Remove the brake pressure sensor from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

Notice: To prevent equipment damage, never connect or disconnect the wiring harness connection from the EBCM with the ignition switch in the ON position.





1. Install the brake pressure sensor to the EBCM in the vehicle.
- Tighten the pressure switch to 22 Nm (16 ft. lbs.).
2. Connect the brake pressure sensor electrical connector.
3. Position the EBCM back into the support bracket and tighten the retaining nuts (1).
- Tighten the retaining nuts to 10 Nm (10 ft. lbs.).
4. Install and connect the radiator inlet hose.
5. Fill the cooling system.
6. Perform the Diagnostic System Check - ABS to verify the repair.
