Radiator Replacement

Removal Procedure





1. Remove the fan shroud.
2. Reposition the throttle body heater outlet hose clamp at the radiator.
3. Remove the throttle body heater outlet hose from the radiator.





4. Reposition the radiator inlet hose clamp at the water pump.
5. Remove the radiator inlet hose from the water pump.





6. Reposition the radiator outlet hose clamp at the water pump inlet.
7. Remove the radiator outlet hose from the water pump inlet.





8. Reposition the surge tank inlet hose clamp at the radiator.
9. Remove the surge tank inlet hose from the radiator.





10. Remove the connector position assurance (CPA) lock.
11. Disconnect the mass air flow (MAP) sensor electrical connector.





12. If equipped, remove the automatic transmission oil cooler lines from the radiator.





Important: It is not necessary to disconnect the air conditioning (A/C) lines from the condenser.

13. With the aid of an assistant, remove the condenser from the radiator and position it forward.
14. Remove the radiator from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure





1. Install the radiator.
2. With the aid of an assistant, install the condenser into the four retaining tabs on the radiator.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.





3. If equipped, install the automatic transmission oil cooler lines to the radiator, if equipped.
^ Tighten the automatic transmission oil cooler lines to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).





4. Connect the MAP sensor electrical connector.
5. Install the CPA lock.





6. Install the surge tank inlet hose to the radiator.
7. Position the surge tank inlet hose clamp at the radiator.





8. Install the radiator outlet hose to the water pump inlet.
9. Position the radiator outlet hose clamp at the water pump inlet.





10. Install the radiator inlet hose to the water pump.
11. Position the radiator inlet hose clamp at the water pump.





12. Install the throttle body heater outlet hose from the radiator.
13. Position the throttle body heater outlet hose clamp at the radiator.
14. Install the fan shroud.
