Electronic Throttle Control Module: Service and Repair

THROTTLE ACTUATOR CONTROL (TAC) MODULE REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

NOTE: Refer to Handling Electronic Throttle Control Notice in Service Precautions.




1. Remove the TAC module retaining fasteners (2).
2. Disconnect the TAC module harness connectors from the TAC module (3).
3. Remove the TAC module (3).

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Connect the TAC module harness connectors.
2. Install the TAC module (3) to the mounting studs (1) on the cowl.

NOTE: Refer to the Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

IMPORTANT: Always use a torque wrench in order to obtain the proper torque.

3. Install the TAC module retaining fasteners (2).

Tighten
Tighten the TAC module retaining fasteners to 3 N.m (27 lb in).

4. With the vehicle not in reduced engine power, turn ON the ignition with the engine OFF. With a scan tool, observe the TP sensor angle parameter while operating the accelerator pedal to test for proper throttle plate movement.
5. Start the engine.
