Knock Sensor: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Turn OFF the ignition.
2. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System in Cooling System.

CAUTION: Refer to Vehicle Lifting Caution in Service Precautions.

3. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
4. Remove the knock sensor harness connector.




5. Remove the knock sensor (2).

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

NOTE: Refer to Component Fastener Tightening Notice in Service Precautions.




1. Install the knock sensor (2).

Tighten
Tighten the sensor to 19 N.m (14 lb ft).




2. Install the knock sensor harness connector.
3. Lower the vehicle.
4. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System in Cooling System.
