Refrigerant Pressure Sensor / Switch: Service and Repair

A/C REFRIGERANT PRESSURE SENSOR REPLACEMENT

TOOLS REQUIRED
^ J 34611-A Valve Core Remove and Installer
^ J 39400-A Halogen Leak Detector

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
2. Disconnect the refrigerant pressure sensor electrical connector.




3. Remove the refrigerant pressure sensor from the fitting.




4. Remove and discard the O-ring.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install a NEW O-ring seal in the refrigerant pressure sensor.




2. Coat the O-ring seal with 525 viscosity refrigerant oil.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

3. Install the refrigerant pressure sensor to the fitting.

Tighten
Tighten the refrigerant pressure sensor to 5 N.m (44 lb in).




4. Connect the refrigerant pressure sensor electrical connector.
5. Recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
6. Leak test the fittings of the component using the J 39400-A.
