Camshaft Position Sensor: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Disconnect the electrical connector from the Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor.
2. Remove the bolt and the CMP sensor.




3. Use a mirror in order to inspect the CMP sensor signal rotor (2) for damage.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the CMP sensor.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Secure the CMP sensor with the bolt.

Tighten
Tighten the CMP sensor bolt to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

3. Connect the CMP sensor electrical connector.
