Oil Pressure Sensor: Service and Repair

ENGINE OIL PRESSURE SENSOR OR SWITCH REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle.
2. Remove the following components from the vehicle:
^ The 6 bolts
^ The engine splash shield (1)
3. Disconnect the oil pressure sensor electrical connector.
4. Remove the engine oil pressure sensor from the oil filter housing.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.




1. Install the engine oil pressure sensor to the oil filter housing.

Tighten
Tighten the engine oil pressure sensor to 13 N.m (9 lb ft).

2. Connect the oil pressure sensor electrical connector.
3. Install the engine splash shield (1) to the vehicle. Secure the splash shield with the 6 bolts.

Tighten
Tighten the engine splash shield bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

4. Lower the vehicle.
