Power Steering Pressure Switch: Service and Repair

Removal Procedure

POwer Steering Pressure (PSP) Switch Signal:

1. Disconnect the electrical connector from the power steering pressure (PSP) switch (1).
2. Remove the PSP switch (1) from the steering gear inlet pipe fitting on the high pressure side of the pump (2).

Installation Procedure

Notice: Refer to Component Fastener Tightening Notice in Service Precautions.

POwer Steering Pressure (PSP) Switch Signal:

1. Install the PSP switch (1) to the steering gear inlet pipe fitting on the high pressure side of the power steering pump (2).
Tighten the PSP switch to 21 Nm (15 ft. lbs.).
2. Connect the PSP switch electrical connector.
