Spark Plug Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Remove all foreign material from around the spark plug holes.
2. Remove the spark plug wires.
3. Remove the spark plugs using a spark plug socket.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

IMPORTANT: While gapping the spark plugs be sure to keep the platinum pads aligned to ensure maximum spark plug life.




1. Using a round wire type spark plug gap gauge, inspect the spark plug gap and adjust as necessary. Refer to Ignition System Specifications.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the spark plugs using the spark plug socket.

Tighten
Tighten to 18 Nm (13 lb ft).

3. Apply dielectric lubricant to the inside of the spark plug wire insulator boots.
4. Reinstall the spark plug wires.
