Ignition Coil: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Disconnect the spark plug wires at the ignition coils.
2. Disconnect the ignition coil harness electrical connector.
3. Remove the ignition coil bolts.
4. Remove the ignition coil.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the ignition coil.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

IMPORTANT: The ignition coil bolts have self-tapping threads, care must be taken, NOT to strip the threads when installing.

2. Install the ignition coil bolts.

Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 12 N.m (106 lb in).

3. Connect the ignition coil harness electrical connector.
4. Connect the spark plug wires at the ignition coils.
