HVAC Control Assembly Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Remove the accessory trim plate.
2. Remove HVAC control assembly screws.
3. Remove the HVAC control assembly from the instrument panel to access the following connections:
^ Vacuum
^ Electrical
^ Temperature cable




4. Disconnect the vacuum harness connector from the HVAC control assembly.




5. Disconnect the following electrical connectors from the HVAC control assembly:
^ HVAC mode switch (1)
^ HVAC control illumination (2)
^ HVAC blower switch (3)
^ Rear defogger (4)
6. Remove the temperature control cable (5) from the HVAC control assembly.
When releasing the control cable clips, use a small screwdriver to remove the cable from the control.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the temperature control cable connector (5) to the HVAC control assembly.
2. Connect the following electrical connectors to the HVAC control assembly:
^ Rear defogger (4)
^ HVAC blower switch (3)
^ HVAC control illumination (2)
^ HVAC mode switch (1)




3. Connect the vacuum harness connector to the HVAC control assembly.




4. Install the HVAC control assembly.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

5. Install the HVAC control assembly screws.

Tighten
Tighten the screws to 2.2 N.m (19 lb in).

6. Install the accessory trim plate.
