Heater Pipes Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Drain the engine coolant. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System (2.2L (L61)) in Cooling System.
2. Remove the air cleaner inlet duct.
3. Reposition the ignition module. Refer to Ignition Control Module Replacement in Computers and Controls Systems - 2.2L.
4. Disconnect the heater hoses from the heater pipe assembly.
5. Remove the bolt and nut that retain the pipe to the engine.
6. Remove the heater pipe assembly.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the heater pipe assembly.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the bolt and nut in order to retain the pipe to the engine.

Tighten
Tighten the bolt and nut to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

3. Connect the heater hoses to the heater pipe assembly.
4. Reposition and install the ignition control module.
5. Install the air inlet duct.
6. Refill the engine coolant. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System (2.2L (L61)) in Cooling System.
