Fuel Injector: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Remove the fuel rail assembly.
2. Remove the fuel injector retaining clip (2).

IMPORTANT: Inspect the fuel injector in order to determine if the upper O-rings was also removed. If the upper O-rings is not removed, remove the O-rings from the fuel rail assembly.

3. Remove the fuel injector (4).

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

IMPORTANT: When ordering new fuel injectors, Order the correct fuel injector for the application.




1. Lubricate the new fuel injector O-rings seals (3, 5) with clean engine oil.
2. Install the fuel injector upper O-rings (3).
3. Install the fuel injector lower O-rings (5).
4. Install the fuel injector (4) to the fuel rail assembly.
5. Install the fuel injector retaining clip (2).
6. Install the fuel rail assembly.
