Evaporator Core: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Remove the HVAC module assembly. Service and Repair
2. Remove the heater core.




3. Remove the screws and evaporator core brackets.




4. Remove the evaporator core.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. If you are installing a NEW evaporator core, drain oil from evaporator core measure and add the same quantity of refrigerant oil to the new evaporator core. Refer to Refrigerant System Capacities (LN2, LD9) or Refrigerant System Capacities (L61).
2. Install the evaporator core.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.




3. Install the evaporator core brackets and screws.

Tighten
Tighten the screws to 1 N.m (9 lb in).




4. Install the heater core.
5. Install the HVAC module assembly.
