Fuel Injector: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Remove the fuel rail.
2. Remove the fuel injector retainer clip (6).
3. Remove the fuel injector (5) from the fuel rail (1).

IMPORTANT: Visually inspect the fuel injector in order to determine if the upper O-rings was also removed. If the upper O-rings in not removed, remove the O-rings from the fuel rail assembly.

4. Remove and discard the fuel injector O-rings (3, 4).

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

IMPORTANT: Always install new injector O-rings when servicing the fuel injectors. Lubricate the new injector O-rings with clean engine oil




1. Install the O-rings (3, 4) on the fuel injector (5).
2. Install the fuel injector clip (6) on the fuel injector (5).

IMPORTANT: The fuel injector will click when the injector is installed correctly.

3. Install the fuel injector (5) in the fuel rail (1) with the connector facing upward.
4. Install the fuel rail (1).
