EGR Tube: Service and Repair
EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION (EGR) PIPEREMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Remove the engine cover.
2. Remove the retaining bolts (2)
3. Remove the bolt (4) from the right side head.
4. Remove the nuts (5) from the exhaust manifold.
5. Remove the EGR valve pipe (3).
6. Remove the gaskets (1) and (6).
7. Clean the EGR valve pipe mounting surfaces of dirt and debris.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install new gaskets (1) and (6).
2. Install the EGR valve pipe (3)
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
3. Install the retaining bolts (2).
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 30 N.m (22 lb ft).
4. Install the bolt (4) to the right side head.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).
5. Install the nuts (5) to exhaust manifold
Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 30 N.m (22 lb ft).
6. Install the engine cover.
