EGR Valve: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Remove the engine cover.
2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the EGR valve.
3. Disconnect the EGR valve pipe from the EGR valve.
4. Remove the two EGR valve retaining nuts (1).
5. Remove the EGR valve (2).
6. Remove the gasket (3) from the intake manifold.
7. Clean the EGR valve mounting surface of dirt and debris.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install a new gasket (3) on the intake manifold.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the EGR valve (2) and two nuts (1).

Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 30 N.m (22 lb ft).

3. Connect the EGR valve pipe.
4. Connect the EGR valve electrical connector.
5. Install the engine cover.
