Seat Back Frame Replacement - Front (Driver Side)

Removal Procedure





1. Remove the front seat. Refer to Seat Replacement - Front Bucket (Seat Replacement - Front Bucket) .
2. Remove the front seat inner adjuster finish cover. Refer to Seat Adjuster Track Cover Replacement - Front Inner (Seat Adjuster Track Cover Replacement - Front Inner) .
3. Remove the front seat head restraint and the guides. Refer to Head Restraint Replacement - Front Seat (Head Restraint Replacement - Front Seat) .
4. Remove the armrest. Refer to Armrest Replacement (Service and Repair) .
5. Remove the lumbar support knob. Refer to Lumbar Support Knob Replacement (Lumbar Support Knob Replacement) .
6. Release the J-retainer (2) on the bottom of the seat back cushion cover (1) which secures the cover around the seat adjuster lateral rod (3).
7. Roll the seat back cushion cover (1) up and off the seat back cushion pad and frame.




8. Remove the 2 bolts (2) which secure each seat adjuster (3) to the seat back cushion frame (1).
9. Remove the seat back cushion pad and frame (1) from the front seat.



Installation Procedure






Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

1. Install the seat back cushion pad and frame (1) to the front seat. Secure the frame to each seat adjuster (3) with the 2 mounting bolts (2).

Tighten the front seat back cushion mounting bolts to 35 N.m (25 lb ft).





2. Roll the seat back cushion cover (1) onto the seat back cushion pad and frame.
3. Secure the J-retainer (2) on the bottom of the seat back cushion cover (1) around the seat adjuster lateral rod (3).
4. Install the front seat head restraint and the guides. Refer to Head Restraint Replacement - Front Seat (Head Restraint Replacement - Front Seat) .
5. Install the armrest. Refer to Armrest Replacement (Service and Repair) .
6. Install the lumbar support knob. Refer to Lumbar Support Knob Replacement (Lumbar Support Knob Replacement) .
7. Install the front seat inner adjuster finish cover. Refer to Seat Adjuster Track Cover Replacement - Front Inner (Seat Adjuster Track Cover Replacement - Front Inner) .
8. Install the front seat. Refer to Seat Replacement - Front Bucket (Seat Replacement - Front Bucket) .
