Ignition Coil: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Remove the two fasteners and the ignition coil cover (2) from the valve cover (1).
2. Disconnect the ignition coil electrical connector.




3. Remove the ignition coil retaining bolt (1).
4. Pull up in order to remove the ignition coil (2).

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install ignition coil (2) into the valve cover.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Secure the ignition coil to the engine with the retaining bolt (1).

Tighten
Tighten the retaining bolt to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

3. Connect the ignition coil electrical connector.




4. install the ignition coil cover (2) to the valve cover (1).
5. Secure the ignition coil cover (2) with the two fasteners.

Tighten
Tighten the two fasteners to 3 N.m (26 lb in).
