Manifold Pressure/Vacuum Sensor: Service and Repair

MANIFOLD ABSOLUTE PRESSURE (MAP) SENSOR REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Disconnect the electrical connector (4) from the MAP sensor (1).




2. Remove the 2 MAP sensor attaching bolts (1).
3. Remove the MAP sensor (2) from the intake plenum.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Lubricate the seal on the MAP sensor vacuum port with clean engine oil.
2. Install the MAP sensor (2) into the intake plenum.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

3. Secure the MAP sensor to the intake plenum with the 2 bolts (1).

Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 3.5 N.m (30 lb in).




4. Connect the electrical connector (4) to the MAP sensor (1).
