Air Injection Vacuum Control Solenoid Valve: Service and Repair

SECONDARY AIR INJECTION (AIR) VACUUM CONTROL SOLENOID VALVE REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Remove the ignition control module (ICM) and coils.
2. Remove the vacuum lines from the secondary air injection (AIR) solenoid.
3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the AIR solenoid.
4. Remove the AIR solenoid to bracket screw.
5. Remove the AIR solenoid from the bracket.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the AIR solenoid to the bracket.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the AIR solenoid to bracket screw.

Tighten
Tighten the fasteners to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

3. Install the electrical connector to the AIR solenoid.
4. Install the vacuum lines to the AIR solenoid.
5. Install the ICM and coils.
