Generator Bracket Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System in Cooling System.
3. Remove the engine cooling fan clutch.
4. Remove the engine drive belt.




5. Remove the fan pulley.
6. Remove the generator.
7. Remove the A/C compressor, if equipped.
8. Remove the power steering pump.
9. Remove the thermostat assembly.




10. Remove the bolts holding the generator mounting bracket to the engine.
11. Remove the generator mounting bracket.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the accessory mounting bracket.
2. Install the generator mounting bracket bolts to the engine.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Tighten
Tighten the generator mounting bolts to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).

3. Install the thermostat assembly.
4. Install the A/C compressor, if equipped.
5. Install the power steering pump.
6. Install the generator.




7. Install the fan pulley.

Tighten
Tighten the fan pulley bolts to 30 N.m (22 lb ft).

8. Install the engine drive belt.
9. Install the engine cooling fan clutch.
10. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System in Cooling System.
11. Connect the negative battery cable.
