Trunk / Liftgate Lock Cylinder: Service and Repair

LOCK CYLINDER REPLACEMENT - REAR DOOR

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Open the liftgate.
2. Remove liftgate trim panel.
3. Remove the liftgate handle molding.




4. Remove the nuts from the lock cylinder.




5. Disconnect electrical connector, if equipped.
6. Disconnect the lock rod from the cylinder.
7. Remove the lock cylinder from the liftgate.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the lock cylinder to the liftgate.
2. Install the liftgate lock cylinder retaining nuts.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).




3. Attach the lock rod to the key cylinder.
4. Connect the electrical connector, if equipped.
5. Attach the lock rod to the latch.
6. Install the liftgate handle molding.
7. Install the liftgate trim panel.
8. Close the liftgate.
