Cigar Lighter Housing Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P)

Tools Required

J 42059 Cigarette Lighter Socket Remover


Removal Procedure





1. Remove the cigarette lighter fuse.
2. Place one side of the T-portion of J 42059 into the tab window and angle the other portion into the opposite tab window. Pull the cigarette lighter socket straight out.
3. Remove the tool from the cigarette lighter socket.
4. Disconnect the electrical connector from the front console cigarette lighter socket.
5. Remove the cigarette lighter port retainer by using your index finger and pulling out.



Installation Procedure





1. Position the cigarette lighter port retainer, placing the key to the slot into the power accessory port hole.
2. Install the cigarette lighter port retainer by pressing into place until fully seated.
3. Connect the electrical connector to the front console cigarette lighter socket.
4. Position the cigarette lighter socket to the retainer.
5. Install the cigarette lighter socket into the front console. Press into place until fully seated.
6. Install the cigarette lighter fuse.
7. Inspect the cigarette lighter for proper operation.
