Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS)

Removal Procedure
1. Raise and support the vehicle.





2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the vehicle speed sensor.





3. Remove the following parts:
^ The vehicle speed sensor
^ The O-ring seal

Installation Procedure
1. Coat a new O-ring seal with a thin film of transmission oil.






Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the following parts:
2.1. The O-ring on the vehicle speed sensor assembly.
2.2. The vehicle speed sensor assembly.
2.3. Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 16 Nm (12 ft. lbs.).





3. Install the electrical connector to the vehicle speed sensor.
4. Lower the vehicle.
