Body Front End Description

General Description

The bodies are of unitized construction. The inner fender panels and the radiator support are also an integral part of the body.

Lubrication

Use Lubriplate, GM P/N 1052196 or the equivalent in order to lubricate the following components:

* The primary hood latch
* The secondary hood latch
* The hood hinges

Fasteners

The present models use many aluminum components. Aluminum in contact with steel may corrode rapidly if not protected by special finishes or isolators.

Anti-Corrosion Protection

Anti-corrosion materials have been applied to the surfaces of the metal panels in order to provide rust resistance. When servicing these panels, properly re-coat the areas on this material that have been disturbed using a service-type anti-corrosion material.
