Canister Purge Control Valve: Service and Repair
EVAPORATIVE EMISSION (EVAP) CANISTER PURGE VALVE REPLACEMENTREMOVAL PROCEDURE
NOTE: The EVAP canister may have released carbon particles which caused this part to fail and may cause damage to other components. Check the EVAP canister for loose carbon before returning the vehicle to service.
1. Disconnect the two hoses (4) from the EVAP canister purge valve.
2. Disconnect the electrical connector (1) from the EVAP canister purge valve.
3. Remove the one fastener (3) from the EVAP canister purge valve (2).
4. Remove the EVAP canister purge valve (2) from the intake manifold.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the EVAP canister purge valve (2) to the intake manifold.
2. Secure the EVAP canister purge valve (2) with the fastener (3).
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
Tighten
Tighten the fastener to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
3. Connect the electrical connector (1) to the EVAP canister purge valve.
4. Connect the two hoses (4) to the EVAP canister purge valve.
